About me...
Le Bureau des Mots is me — Aurélien Bureau. I’m passionate about words: choosing them well builds clear thinking and a crystal-clear message. I’m equally passionate about languages — mastery is technical and cultural. A language is not only a tool for communication; it’s a way of thinking, a world of its own.
After a degree in History and Geography and journalism training in Paris, I moved to Italy in 2012. I first worked as a freelance journalist for the French-speaking community in Italy. Working between two languages, I soon found myself translating and interpreting — before it officially became my profession.
In 2016, I joined an innovative start-up, managing internal communications and international coordination. Once again, translation and interpreting were central to my role. I split my time between offices in Milan, Paris, Madrid, Düsseldorf and London.
In 2020, as the world stopped, I took the leap and set up as a freelance translator. I returned to university to deepen my skills and discovered a genuine passion for interpreting. I chose not to choose: I would be both translator and interpreter.
Today, thanks to this eclectic background and ongoing professional development, I offer a full range of language services for French-, Italian- and English-speaking clients.
